Paint, Paint, Paint

I started to paint and never got around to finishing, I have tried to continue but feel there is just something missing from these so until I can fix it I shan't be painting anymore.

hmmmm.......

New Thinking

Other artists I have started looking at,

Eva Hesse

Janine Antoni and her use of unconventional markmaking

Jeff Koons

And Jean-Michel Basquiat

I shall see where this takes me next...

Stalker of the Subways

Keith Haring

Jon Burgerman, doodle master

Scribbled, bizarre characters, have inspired my own drawings, provoking me to take a more free approach to my doodling, dont think just do attitude.

He Lives...

My creatures live, aren't they beautiful? Made from old carrier bags, i chose the ones with bright and vibrant colours owing to my researching and taking influence from the CoBrA movement...

Felt it up!

I experimented making felt shapes from my doodles.

What if I stuff these small creatures I have created...

In The Beginning....

CoBrA

Art movement which rejected the traditions of figurative and abstract painting, instead using both they worked to create a style without preconcieved plan, using fantasy and lots of colour to liberate the creativity of all mankind. Showing that this could be interpretted and created by anyone, even those not really interested in the art scene, it was percieved as childlike and it was created with no real agender, except to be a little playful and free.

Karon Appel

The imagery is almost childlike, very primative, like the cave drawings of the Australian aboriginals only with more vibrant colours.

Presentation

I havent posted for some time which is very bad of me, and now i have a presentation to panic myself about. 20 - 30 minutes long regarding content and context of my work, ok so i know i probably could write a pretty extensive piece of writting regarding this but to actually get up and talk in front of a group of people is another kettle of fish. my palms get sweaty, my voice shakes, i get a dry mouth. note to self take a bottle of water.

Anyway, i am to add images etc.. to here and access this during my presentation and that way the entire group can see exactly what it is i am talking about. so off i go.
